60-Minute Intake
Our first session together is an intake. This is when we will go over what is bringing you to therapy, symptoms, mental and physical health history, along with basics about your childhood, family, and support network. We'll review an initial treatment plan together and decide on session frequency.

50-Minute Sessions
Typical weekly sessions with me are 50 minutes long. This allows me to get to know you, build trust and rapport in the beginning, and have in-depth conversations about goals and work toward them
each session as our work
together progresses.
$200
90-Minute Sessions
Reprocessing sessions of EMDR -the eye movement portion of treatment that happens after we've been working together for some time - are often 90 minutes to allow time to process and contain at the end. We will discuss this increase as we near the reprocessing sessions.
Mentaya
If I am out-of-network with your insurance company, that doesn't have to mean therapy is out of reach for you.
I have partnered with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and can help you get thousands back per year.
Superbill Process
Insurance Check
You call your insurance to ensure you have out-of-network benefits. See below for suggested questions to ask
Post-Session Bill
After paying me for our session, I will provide you with a statement which you can submit to your insurance. Often this is done once per month with all sessions on one bill, hence the name superbill
Reimbursement
Depending on your insurance, you should receive reimbursement in a matter of weeks. Percentages of reimbursed amount vary
If your insurance provider covers out-of-network services, they may reimburse you for a portion of the cost of the therapy session. The amount of reimbursement can vary depending on your specific insurance plan and the type of service you received.

A superbill is a document that contains information about the services you received during a therapy session, including the date of the service, the type of service, a diagnosis and the cost of the service. When you pay for a therapy session out-of-pocket, you can request a superbill from your therapist, which you can then submit to your insurance provider
for reimbursement.

To use a superbill, you will need to submit it to your insurance provider along with any other required documentation, such as a claim form. Your insurance provider will then review the superbill and other documents to determine the amount of reimbursement you are eligible for. It’s important to note that not all insurance providers cover out-of-network services, so it’s important to check your insurance plan to see if you are eligible for reimbursement. Additionally, the amount of reimbursement can vary depending on your specific insurance plan and the type of service you received, so it’s a good idea to talk to your insurance provider to understand what costs will be covered and what you will need to pay out-of-pocket.

Recommended Questions for Your Insurance Company:
Services are often covered in part or in full by your health insurance. However, I recommend that you check your coverage before our first appointment by asking your insurance carrier the following questions:
1. Do I have outpatient mental health benefits and what are they?
2. What is my deductible and has it been met?
3. Do I need a pre-authorization or an approval from either my primary care physician or the insurance carrier before starting therapy?
4. How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
5. What is my co-pay amount per therapy session?
6. How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
